Hematopathology Case

 

CLINICAL INFORMATION

 

A 45-year-old male had bowel resection 2 years ago due to Crohn's disease. He recently presented with increasing weakness. He had weekly Procrit injection for six months, and he regularly takes multivitamins for several years.

CBC:: WBC 1.1K, HGB 6.5, platelet 277K.

A bone marrow biopsy showed a cellularity of 40-60% with 8% ringed sideroblasts.
